review

L'Occitane brightening face mist - £15

at first i thought i was a bit loopy splashing out £15 on a face mist, however i think this product is worth every penny! i had a voucher to use from christmas and decided that i would pick this up as i've seen quite a few people raving about how good it is. it's alcohol free and enriched with immortelle floral water and bellis perennis. these ingrediants call for a refreshing, softening and illuminating face mist which feels lovely on the skin. i've been using this when i wake up and before i go to bed at night too and have also been using it to refresh my face throughout the day when it starts to look a bit dull. i find you only need a few spritzes on your face which gives an incredible glow that actually lasts. most other face mists i've tried seem to just disappear after ten minutes of spraying them so this is definitely a winner product!

have you tried this or anything similar?

friday face

friday face - after using strobe cream from mac to give a dewy look to my face, i use my pro longwear foundation (in n18). i apply this with my real techniques expert face brush. i only recently bought this foundation and i think it's right up my street with it being long lasting and quite a medium, buildable coverage. i then apply some bronzer to contour my cheeks. today i went for mac's bronzer in 'golden' using real techniques' blush brush. this bronzer always looks way too dark and scary for someone as fair skinned as me but using the tiniest amount on a brush works wonders and gives me a great bit of colour. using the same brush i then apply my blusher, 'peaches' by mac. finally i dab a little bit of creme cup lipstick over my lips which gives the perfect pinky 'your lips but better' colour when pressed on to the lips rather than applied normally. last but not least i fill in my brows using sleeks brow kit in light using an angled brush. and voila!

mini haul!

gooood afternoon blog friends :) i've been feeling a little poorly for a while now so haven't really been up to much exciting recently. i did however go shopping with my favourite to buy a few things just as a little pick me up. obviously i headed straight to Lush, where i bought my two all time favourite bath bombs, honey bee and butterball. i also decided to get myself a nice face mask as i hadn't used one in ages! i went for oatfix, which is targeted for sensitive and drier skin. it literally smells good enough to eat. don't say i didn't warn you. it's full of oats (duh), banana, vanilla and ground almonds and it makes my skin feel super hydrated after using it. i may have to go repurchase this soon as i'm only have a couple of applications left out of the tub! next i had a wander in to topshop and just picked up these cute black frilly ankle socks. i've been wearing these with all my ankle boots just to add a little something extra to my outfits and i really like them. they remind me of when we used to have to wear frilly socks in school back in the day! so cute.

what are your recent buys?

saturday makeup (ft. sammy)

hello everyone! i just thought i'd do a quick post before i go out to do a few errands. this is all of the makeup i've been wearing for about a month every single day (with the odd change of lip colour now n then.) i'm loving this combination at the moment, i've been going for a pretty natural dewy look with a pale pinky nude lip and only a small lashing of mascara on my eyes. simple, easy and quick this look only takes me around 5 minutes to do which is perfect for when i'm rushing to get ready for work most mornings! also i couldn't resist snapping a few photos of my pup, meet sam my jack russell. :D he looks  totally cute and innocent here but in real life he's a little devil!

after prepping my face for the days makeup i firstly apply my nars sheer glow foundation with an ELF stippling brush. i've had this brush for years and years and still love it for applying most of my foundations. after that i use the real techniques blush brush to apply a little powder down the centre of my face. i've been using mac mineralize skinfinish natural a lot recently as i find it sets my foundation well and i don't have to re apply anything throughout the day, even after a long shift at work! then i use my fingers to dab some of the dainty doll cream blush in 'paper roses' on to the apples of my cheeks to give a really natural pinky glow. next i fill in my eyebrows with the sleek brow kit in shade light, apply a little of mac's opulash mascara to my top lashes, and then apply my lipstick. i've been loving mac's creme cup for a while now as it's perfect for an every day makeup look and just a really easy shade to wear.

what products have you been loving recently?

Wednesday 6 March 2013

good evening from me and my crazy mane, i seriously need to get my hair cut, it's not even in a style anymore and it's absolutely boring me to death, but i have a fear of going and getting the chop - i haven't stepped foot in to a hairdressers since '09!

tomorrow i'm gonna post either my february favourites, or maybe an empties post? or maybe even the standard 'whats in my bag'. not sure yet, but i'm hoping to have at least one post up by tomorrow afternoon. i'm seeing my grandma tomorrow which should be nice, i'm taking her shopping and for food in newcastle. then i'm getting my new iphone. woooo exciting! i'm currently staying up waiting for the sims 3 to download on my mac and i know i will probably play it until the early hours of the morning then regret it when i need to be up tomorrow. i could easily waste days/weeks/months/years/my life away playing the sims - i always find when i play it the time passes so quickly?! is that just me being a total sims nerd or does this happen to you too? ha!

scarf - h&m (old) / shirt - monki (£25) / leggings - h&m (£9.99) / loafers - new look (£19.99) / bag - primark (£12 i think?!)

today i laid in bed until about 11am which was absolute bliss - first sunday i've had off work in forever! i then got up and ready and popped in to town with my mum to pick up a few bits and pieces. i bought some hair dye, a new lipstick, a maxi dress, skater skirt and a big cosy jumper. :) i also bought some ingredients to make gooey peanut butter brownies. i've seen recipes floating around all over the internet for these so thought i'd give them a go at some point through my week off work as they sound right up my street. i've not really done much else today apart from laze around and watch tv shows online ! tomorrow will be more productive. (so she says...)
